With the aim of boosting the sustainability of existing buildings, reducing final energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, a building energy rehabilitation program (pree) has been approved in spain. A rehabilitation for more sustainable buildings the  pree program  was proposed by the ministry for the ecological transition and demographic challenge and approved on august 4, through royal Phone Number List decree 737/2020. The body responsible for coordinating and monitoring the aid will be the idae. However, they will be  managed by the communities and autonomous cities that benefit from it. It should be noted that the 300 million euros budget may be expanded with new allocations from the national energy efficiency fund, other financing instruments, co-financing from the european development fund (erdf) or different resources that could be granted in europe, at a  rate of economic reconstruction due to the covid-19 crisis . The pree will be valid from the dates established in the calls  until july 31, 2021.



What are the actions of the program that will promote the sustainability of the existing building? Eligible energy efficiency improvements include   : changes in the  thermal envelope . Replacement of thermal generation facilities  with fossil fuels with thermal heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and sanitary water installations, based on renewable sources such as biomass, solar thermal, heat pump or renewable electricity generation for self-consumption. The incorporation of regulation and control technologies is also included. Improvement in  lighting installations . To qualify for the program, buildings will have to  justify the reduction in final energy consumption and co2 emissions  with respect to their starting situation, using one of the calculation methods included in directive 2012/27/eu 2 . It is important to highlight that those  buildings that have been built after 2007 will not be eligible for this aid . They may participate in the energy rehabilitation program: single-family housing buildings.
