If you don't want to subscribe to a tool, it's easy (albeit less automated) to conduct a general search that includes a combination of keywords or geographic locations as well as the frequently displayed directories themselves. In fact, I prefer the manual method because it allows for more serendipitous opportunities to reveal themselves. Specialty agencies won't have as many, but as with directories, you'll need to consider niche and location and a combination of the two.
Particularly in the United States, there are numerous opportunities for you or your clients to moible number data join local chapters of organizations. There is often a cost to joining these professional organizations (at least the worthwhile ones), but the credibility associated with them and other business benefits to clients often far outweigh the costs. We are often surprised that clients have paid a subscription fee for membership.
Which entitles them to a listing, but they have never applied! , but the impact isn't necessarily life-changing. To find these types of organizations, tools are great if you need a quick, easy way to find these opportunities. You may find this list useful (although a bit unfriendly to navigate) as many trade publications have corresponding associations. That's not always the case, but hey, it's still a useful resource if you want to learn about trade media. Events I highly recommend reading this blog post.
